Charles Fillmore reminds us that water can represent weakness and a state of negativity.
The one who allows oneself to become negative
to the Good finds oneself uncertain and unstable in mind, and often becomes so
submerged in the waters of negation that the physical condition is low. Weak sympathy with error (our silent nods to the negativity that someone else is expressing) helps to produce this condition.
To be positive toward the Good, it is very necessary that one have right
ideas of God, knowing God to be All-Good, and maintain them when faced with the waters of negativity.
Fire represents the positive, affirmative state of mind, as
opposed to the negative or watery state.
The fire of God is the Word of God in action. It burns out the dross of negation in
consciousness, and reveals our True Self.
Spiritual fire is a symbol of the destruction of the beliefs
of evil and error. The fire of Spirit
never ceases its life-giving, purifying glow.
In it, all error is burned up in consciousness and the purified one then
manifests this “fire” as Eternal Life.
We want to stand strong in Truth and expect the Best. The “fire” of the Creative Process will
silently clear away the debris of disordered thinking.
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: I expect the Best and allow the Creative Process to silently clear away the debris of a disordered life.
