Tessarakonta -- Day 19

19th Day, Wednesday, March 26, 2014

According to Revs. Lloyd Strom and Marcia Sutton, when we engage in spiritual practice like we are all doing, we stand at the brink of spiritual freedom.  However, at this edge of New Good, we behold all of the personal false beliefs and emotional reactions which have kept us from receiving that New Good in the past.  As we become increasingly aware of the “mental blocks” and “emotional conflicts” hidden within our subconscious nature, it is entirely normal to become deeply disheartened.

However, this phenomenon is not unlike the experience we have when we begin to clean the windows of our home.  We usually do not realize how dirty our windows were until we begin to clean them.

Therefore, they say, we should NOT be discouraged by the “crisis of discipline” but REJOICE in it.  For it is a sign that we are standing, at last, on the threshold of Freedom.

Remember: It is only when we are AWARE of something that we can change it.  Being clueless that we are clueless leaves us clueless.

TIP:  If you find yourself wanting to give up, try just showing up for your spiritual practice and breathe.  That may be enough for the day.
