Evolution is the result of the development of ideas in
mind. What we are is the result of the
evolution of our consciousness, and our consciousness is the result of the seed
ideas sown in our mind. In the beginning,
God implanted Its perfect Word into each of us.
God’s Word or Ideal of us is perfect, whole and complete. Evolution is the unfolding in consciousness
of that which God involved within us in the beginning.
Spiritual evolution is the unfolding of the Spirit of
God/Good into expression. It is the
development achieved by us working under Spiritual Law.
The unfoldment that each of us is undergoing is a vital part of the unfoldment of the whole human race. The ideas that we hold and act upon develop
our consciousness in a definite direction, and the result of the continuing
development of consciousness in each individual is the evolution of
humankind. To the degree that we unfold
under Spiritual Law, the human race is lifted up and progresses steadily toward
expressing Divine Perfection.
Spirit’s intention in Its Evolution is to see Itself more
perfectly expressed in Its Creation.
This is felt in us as a desire for Greater Good in our world. When we agree with the Greater Good, we experience
being in the Diving Unfoldment of Life, also known as ‘being in the flow’.
We can evolve on the purely physical level; I am running and the benefits of that running remain while I run and my physical body evolves into a stronger, healthier expression.
We can evolve on the emotional level; listening to our loved one and learning to breathe and pause before responding. Our relationship evolves into a more intimate connection.
We can evolve on the mental level; taking an idea and cogitating on it until we understand it. I can take a self-help course and learn to think positively about myself and others. I evolve mentally into a more successful experience of life while I am saying "I CAN do it!"
And, most importantly, we can evolve on the spiritual level; meditating upon the Divinity Within Us. I can contemplate the Truth of "All Good is present All the time." and my entire being evolves into a more connected, happier relationship with the Divine, with myself and with the world.
When we evolve spiritually, ALL levels are affected. It's the most powerful evolution of all.
