Tessarakonta -- Day 12

12th Day, Tuesday, March 18, 2014

The will is the executive faculty of the mind, our determining factor.  What we will WILL come to pass.

The will is the center in mind around which revolve all the activities that constitute consciousness.  It is the avenue through which the I AM expresses its potentiality into form.

The will may be said to be that part of us which creates our character.  When we will the Will of God, we build spiritual character.

Many of us are terrified of the Will of God, especially early in our spiritual journey.  This is because we believe in a God who would will something unpleasant for us, for our own good!!!  It’s also because we believe we are separate from God and so “our will” is different from “God’s Will.”

Note:  If we substitute “Good” for the name “God”, we get a different perspective.  “I will do that which is Good’s Will.” Goodwill.

Later in our spiritual journey, we begin identifying with our True Self, which is that part of ourselves which is One with Good, with God.  And we begin to realize that the Greatest Good of All INCLUDES our Good.  (This means the Good that, once we know it, even WE would will it.)

This Tessarakonta season, we are, for the time being, surrendering our human will to the Greatest Good possible for us.  We are surrendering just to see if we might discover a Good better than what we had been imagining with our false beliefs.  The Will of Good/God NEVER has a false belief about us.

QUESTION TO PONDER:  What New Good might I experience once I accept the possibility that there is a Greater Good than I have ever imagined available to me?
